The continental jamboree organised in Yaounde ends on 14th October 2017 . The 13 competing teams include: Cameroon, Tunisia , Algeria, Senegal Cape Verde ,Nigeria , Ghana ,DR Congo, Kenya, Egypt, Botswana, Mozambique, Zambia and Chad. Mozambique qualified as zone 6 runners-up from the zonal round but withdrew.Cameroon has been placed in Zone 2, to face Algeria, Cape Verte, Senegal and Tunisia. Cameroon's excellent track record at the FIVB World Grand Prix and a string of successes in recent international competitions makes her a force to reckon with.The 14 players who qualified Cameroon for its first ever Olympic Games in 2016 after stunning Egypt 3-2 in the final of the African qualifiers have ended four weeks of training.The captain of the Volleyball lionesses, Christelle Nana, sounded upbeat. “We promise to do our best to win the trophy here in Yaounde”, she declared.The two top teams of the African championship will represent Africa in the 2018 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship.Nyibeche Dero Momoh (intern).
