The men basketball team of Cameroon were pushed to the edge this Thursday 14th September 2017 by 91 to 106 baskets in favour of Nigeria.The win by Nigeria,reigning champions,gave them the opportunity to book a qualification ticket  to the Semi-final games.The game proved rather challenging for the young Cameroonian  team who did all they could to safe the win, but the Nigerians  were rather  more determined in winning the game.In the first quarter, D’Tigers registered 25 to 18 and also edged the Cameroonian side 27 to 25 in the second quarter. However, they fell 23 to 27 in the third quarter.The Nigerians fought back toa 31 to 21 win in the last quarter, and the  game ended  106 to 91 points.Nigeria won three of the four quarters to  consolidate its progress while Cameroon won just two of the four quarters.Despite their defeat FIBA experts holds that Cameroon is a formidable team and a strong contender but for some tactical errors on their part and the .It should be noted that Cameroon\'s Benoit Mballa remains outstanding scorer of the game with 32 points, hopes are high that lessons learnt in Tunis will be applied at the World Cup qualifiers scheduled to be played in Yaounde this November 2017.Senegal, Nigeria, Morocco, and co-host Tunisia are through to the FIBA AfroBasket 2017 semi finals.Annabella Tabi Ntoh(intern)
