Cameroon’s 90kgs athlete,  Clementine Meukeugni Noumbissi has won the first medal in bronze at the ongoing commonwealth games in Gold Coast Australia. With a performance of 101kgs in the snatch, 125kgs in Clean and Jerk category totalling 226 kgs, Clementine Meukeugni Noumbissi wins a bronze medal.At 27 year old Cameroonain female was professional and tenacious.The athlete recorded a 95kg in her first snatch and 98kg in her second move.During the third trail Clementine Meukeugni Noumbissi came on the offensive with 101kg which earned her a bronze.She was closely followed the Women’s Weightlifting 90kg  Eileen Cikamaana from the Fiji Association of Sports and National Olympic Committee in London.She grabbed the gold medal with a total score of 103 kg and a  Clean and Jerk of 233kg.The Australian, Kaity Fassina was second best, she got a silver medal after a 104 kg snatch and 232 in Clean and JerkThe first Cameroon’s medal is expected to  boost the moral of other atheletes notably boxers who are preparing for aquarter finals to take place on Tuesday 9th April 2018.Below is the detail of Cameroon’s participation.– 200m heats – Irene Bell and Abessolo Bivina. Zealand)– 8:32 p. m – +91kgs – Arsene Fokou vs Keddy Agnes (Seychelles)– 1:40 p. m- Naim Mohammed (TTO) vs Antoine Owona Ndimako-2:15 p. m – Rachael Darragh(NIR) vs Stella NgadjuiSeyi Wilfried is presently at the quater finals after a  unanimous decision by all five judges.He is a Cameroonian athlete in the 75kg Men’s Weightlifting.Athletics: Marie Gisele Eleme (5th) and Appes Ekanga (6th) eliminated.Marathon: Charifa Labarang didnot finish a 100m race. She suffered a thigh stretch and was put out of the competition.Weightlifting:  Fouodji Sonkbou Arcangeline was ranked 9th and Mikoumba Petit David 6th.Basketball: The national team  eliminated after a defeat by England 81 –  54.As the competition continues, many are still upbeat about a  good tidings from team Cameroon.The  Commonwealth Games ends Sunday 15th April 2018.Benly Anchunda
