The 2018 Secondary School Games code named “FENASCO A” has kicked-off in the town of Ngaoundere in the Adamawa region. The 20th secondary schools games was launched Monday 2nd April 2018 at the Ndoumbe Omar sports complex by the Minister of Secondary Education,Dr Nalova Lyonga Pauline.Speaking at the opening ceremony,the Secondary Education boss,Dr. Nalova Lyonga who took office on 2nd March 2018,after cabinet reshuffle advocated for fair play while calling for more participation of girls.The competitions to run from 2nd March – 8th March 2018 has as theme “School games for the enhancement of living together”Two thousand athletes and trainers are already converged on Ngaoundere for the big event.In all, ten individual sports and collective sporting disciplines are on the rundown for the long week competitions.On day-1 of the games,the girls soccer team of Government High School Ngaoundere took on the Government Technical High School Nyete in a game that ended 2-1 in favour of GHS Ngaoundere.The choice of the present host,the Adamawa region was announced during the 19th edition of FENASCO A that was hosted by the South West region.The annoucement was made by the then Minister of Secondary Education, Jean Ernest Ngalle Messina Bibehe in the presence of the Former Vice Chancellor of the University of Buea Dr. Nalova Lyonga.Benly Anchunda
