The Minister of Arts and Culture, Prof Narcisse Mouelle Kombi has launched activities to commemorate the international days of storytelling, poetry and theatre this 2nd April 2018.Speaking on the occasion at the Cameroon Cultural Centre, the Arts and Culture Minister indicated that the international days of Storytelling, Poetry and Theatre Were initiated to valorise the talents of the field.Minister Narcisse Mouelle Kombi argues that people need to understand the beauty of the world projected through poetry, theatre and story-telling.To the Director of “Ensemble National” at the Ministry of Arts and Culture, Joseph Eloundou Atangana culture is next after man and nature, reason why it becomes necessary to observe days like such.After the official ceremony, the detailed programme of commemoration of the three international days is as follows:– 2nd April, commemoration of International Day of Storytelling– 3rd April, commemoration of International Day of Theatre– 10th April, commemoration of International Day of PoetryIt is worth mentioning that the World Storytelling Day, the World Theatre Day and the World Poetry Day were internationally observed on the 20th, 21st and 27th of March respectively.Eleanor Ayuketah
